brain jacked on the map
At the Holey of Holeys tavern, Urza said the First Disciple of Halvar the grumpy god of vengeance is now the Priestess's most trusted advisor, edging Urza themself out. Having staked much on the Priestess and her life-ethic and mercy, Mou5e and Raxus took this to mean Halvar's cult have manipulated the Priestess. They see Halvar's cult as a primary villain and perhaps in league with (or directing or directed by) the Prince of Shadows.
Halvar's cult is using the map to find items. One week ago, they sent two ships from Santa Cora--one to retrieve an item in Drakkenhall, the other to the Intrepid Hills. Endra went to the rent-a-cleric district to send a message of warning to Bizzy and to rent-a-cleric to overworld travel us to the Intrepid Hills when we finish in Santa Cora
Next, after much discussion of options, we stole the map from the Priestess's personal chapel, with the begrudging help of Wendolyn (Raxus icon benefit), who turned out to be a Halvar cultist. We left her in the Cathedral alive but mind-wiped.
Back at the Holey of Holeys, Artemis obeyed his wand and looked at the map while wearing the Archmage's crown, which, back in the day, Raxus stole from Doku Death Shadow.
We all could see dots on the map representing magic items and a special dot representing the only magic item possessed by its icon (High Druid). Arty could "zoom in" on one dot to see its surroundings. He chose the one in Drakkenhall. It's the Elf Queen's Armor of Shards of Ice. Doku has it.
Here is a summary of all we know now.
There are two items in Santa Cora and Intrepid Hills; one everywhere else. The Archmage's wand does not appear on the map, because it was the Archmage's map.
Arty was spent afterward.
The cleric Endra rented (icon benefit) met us at the tavern, and we teleported a bit off course. But we arrived in the Intrepid Hills after a brisk 5.5 mile run.
Bizzy and co. were already preparing defenses. She'd gotten word that one of Halvar's cultist's ships had arrived in Drakkenhall. The other, we presumed, is enroute to that "fruity fishing village on the Iron Sea"*.
We sketched a plan to ambush them there or perhaps, on their way from there to here, to harass them guerrilla style.
